Survey/Data Research

Solutions for Associations, Inc. (SFA) offers associations many valuable and cost efficient services regarding research and policy development. Those services include:

  • developing and analyzing surveys;
  • conducting marketing, membership, and policy research;
  • developing policy/position papers; and
  • creating policy databases.

SFA staff has designed, distributed, and analyzed association surveys, resulting in documented needs analyses, evaluations of association activities, and program modifications leading to more effective membership and policy activities. Staff has utilized programs such as in BASIC, SHAZAM, SAS, and PARADOX to evaluate both surveys SFA has developed and other surveys that clients have brought to the firm for evaluation.

Our staff has prepared and/or published many surveys and policy reports. These include surveys such as:

  • "Member Needs Assessment for the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD)";
  • "Member Needs Assessment of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS)"; and
  • "Role Delineation Survey of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)".

One of our staff was also involved in the development of the American Medical Association’s (AMA) Policy Compendium, a compilation of thousands of policies established by the AMA House of Delegates. Our staff consulted on the development of a computerized search mechanism for that policy database.
